1. What does it cost to use Siyakhokha?

Registration on Siyakhokha and usage of the site is free. Please note, however, that your bank will still charge you their standard transaction fee for utilising the site to pay your Ekurhuleni bill.

2. How do I register on Siyakhokha?

Visit the Siyakhokha home page and select the "Register" option at the top right of the page. To complete the registration process you will need the following:
• Your Personal Details, Valid Email address and RSA ID No.

3. Do I have access to my previous municipal bills?

The Siyakhokha site will have a record of all statements from the time that you register for the service. The site retains a minimum of 2 years history of your statements and payments made via Siyakhokha.

4. How secure is the Siyakhokha site?

The Siyakhokha team has made every effort to ensure that your personal and business information is protected by using the highest forms of browser security available today. The site is secured by Thawte, which ensures the security certificates generated by the site are valid and secure. Every time a user connects to the Siyakhokha website, an encrypted and completely secure connection is made between your browser and Siyakhokha, ensuring that your experience is safe and secure. The Siyakhokha web site address is When accessing the Siyakhokha site, also look for the "s" in https:// at the beginning of the web address Siyakhokha, and (on most browsers) the golden lock symbol padlock will appear in the address bar. 5. Can I register my company on Siyakhokha?

You are able to register your compnay Information under the "My Profile" Service of the Siyakhokha site. Just change your Customer type to "Entity (Business)".

6. I am an agent and would like to register and pay on behalf of my clients.

Yes, this service is available under the "My Profile" Service of the Siyakhokha site. Just change your Customer type to "Managing Agent".

7. Will my client's information be accessible to anyone else?

For support purposes, the Siyakhokha Call Centre agents will have access to your client's information - to assist in the event of a support query/call. Please ensure that your clients are aware of this fact and refer to the Terms and Conditions for additional information.

8. Can I allow someone else to pay a bill on my behalf?

No, this service is temporarily disabled.

9. I'm a tenant, can I still use the site?

No, this service is temporarily disabled.

10. Can I purchase pre-paid electricity through the site?

The site currently does not cater for pre-paid electricity, but watch this space...

11. Can I submit meter readings on the site?

Siyakhokha users will be able to submit meter readings on the site shortly, this will be found under the "View Consumption" service of the site.

12. Can I pay my traffic fines on Siyakhokha?

No, this service is temporarily disabled.

13. Is there an option to add bulk accounts to my profile on Siyakhokha?

For security and validation reasons the site does not cater for bulk account uploads.

14. How do I add my municipal bill on Siyakhokha?

Log on to the Siyakhokha site. Select the "My Profiles" option under "Municipal Services" in the main menu. Select the "Link Account" button. Input the details of the account and select the "Submit" button. For security purposes the account will not be added without the required information. The account will now be listed on your Current Linked Accounts Tab.

15. When I try to link my new account to my profile on Siyakhokha, the site informs me that it does not exist.

Once you have registered a new municipal account with the City of Ekurhuleni, your account may take up to 6-8 weeks before it reflects on the Siyakhokha site and is available to be added to your profile.

16. How do I pay a bill on Siyakhokha?

Once you have added your Municipal bill to your profile, log into the Siyakhokha site. Select the "My Profiles" option under "Municipal Services" in the main menu. A list of your associated Municipal accounts will be displayed. Select the account you wish to pay and click on the "View/Pay Municipal Bills" option. Input the amount you wish to pay, select your preferred payment type and click on the "Continue" button.

17. Can I pay my account with my credit card?

Yes you can. Download the Masterpass™ app for your preferred Bank. You can then pay using any VISA or Mastercard from the website or mobile application. Payment using Credit or debit card on the site will be available shortly.

18. How do I remove a municipal bill from my Siyakhokha profile?

Log on to the Siyakhokha site. Select the "My Profiles" option under "Municipal Services" in the main menu. Click on the "Edit" button of the desired account. Click on "Unlink Account" button.

19. How do I reset my password?

On the home page, select the "Login" option to the top right of the page. Then select the relevant "Forgot Username & Password" option and follow the steps to reset your password and recover your username.

20. If I pay my account at a retail store or via my banks normal EFT process will it reflect on Siyakhokha?

The Siyakhokha website will only reflect payments made through the Siyakhokha Website or the Masterpass™ app. We are in the process of updating the service to let you know if a payment has been made over the counter.
